1 Acceptance of Terms
These terms and conditions govern all repair services provided by Tech Revive Hertfordshire ("we", "us", "our") operating from 64 Crossbrook Street, Cheshunt, EN8 8JQ.
By handing over, booking, or posting a device to us for repair, you ("the customer") confirm you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not proceed with the repair.
We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. The version published on our website at the time of your repair will apply.
2 Repair Service
We operate a no fix, no fee policy. If we are unable to repair your device, you will not be charged for labour. Diagnostic assessments are always free.
By leaving your device with us, you confirm that:
- You are the legal owner of the device, or you have the owner's authorisation to have it repaired.
- The device is not subject to any finance agreement that prohibits third-party repair.
- The device has not been reported lost or stolen.
We reserve the right to refuse a repair at our discretion, including where we suspect a device is stolen, where the repair is not technically feasible, or where proceeding would cause further damage.
Pre-existing damage: We will note any pre-existing damage on your device when you book it in. We are not responsible for any damage that was present before the repair began, nor for faults unrelated to the repair carried out.
Third-party repairs: Devices that have been previously repaired by a third party may carry a higher risk of complications. We will advise you of any concerns before proceeding and obtain your agreement.
Turnaround times provided at the time of booking are estimates only and may vary depending on parts availability and the complexity of the repair.
3 Pricing & Payment
All prices quoted are inclusive of VAT where applicable. A final price will be confirmed after a free diagnostic assessment and before any work begins. We will not carry out chargeable work without your explicit approval.
Payment is due in full upon collection of your device. We accept cash, card, and bank transfer. For school and business customers, we can issue a VAT invoice — please request this at the time of booking.
Parts: Where parts are ordered specifically for your repair, a deposit may be required. This deposit is non-refundable if you choose to cancel after parts have been ordered.
We reserve the right to correct pricing errors. If a quoted price is found to be incorrect, we will inform you before proceeding and give you the opportunity to cancel.
4 Warranty
All repairs carry a 12-month parts and labour warranty as standard. If the same fault recurs within 12 months of the repair date, we will fix it free of charge.
The warranty does not cover:
- Physical damage caused after the repair (drops, liquid ingress, impact).
- Faults unrelated to the original repair carried out.
- Damage caused by attempting a further repair or modification by a third party after our repair.
- Normal wear and tear, including battery degradation over time.
- Software issues, including operating system updates that affect device functionality.
To make a warranty claim, return your device to us at 64 Crossbrook Street, Cheshunt, EN8 8JQ with your original receipt or proof of repair.
5 Data & Privacy
Back up your data before handing in your device. While we take every reasonable precaution to protect your data during repairs, we cannot guarantee that data will not be lost or corrupted as a result of the repair process. We strongly recommend you back up all data before leaving your device with us.
We accept no liability for data loss, corruption, or disclosure that occurs during or as a result of a repair.
Where a repair requires us to access your device (for example, to test functionality), we will only do so to the extent necessary to complete the repair. We will never intentionally access, copy, or share your personal data.
Your personal details (name, phone number, email) are collected solely to manage your repair booking and for warranty purposes. We will not pass your details to third parties or use them for marketing without your consent. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.
6 Limitation of Liability
Our liability to you in connection with any repair service shall not exceed the amount paid by you for that repair.
We are not liable for:
- Loss of data, contacts, photos, or other content stored on the device.
- Loss of earnings, business, or consequential loss of any kind.
- Pre-existing faults or damage that were present before the repair.
- Damage caused by failure to collect your device within a reasonable time.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
7 Uncollected Devices
We will notify you by phone or message when your repair is complete. You are responsible for collecting your device promptly.
If a repaired device is not collected within 30 days of us notifying you of completion, we reserve the right to charge a storage fee of £5 per week. Devices uncollected for 90 days after notification may be disposed of or sold to recover costs, after reasonable attempts to contact you.
Devices left for assessment that the customer decides not to repair must be collected within 14 days. After this period, the same storage and disposal policy applies.
8 Call-Out & Home Visit Repairs
Call-out repairs are available within our service area (approximately 5 miles from EN8 8JQ, extended to 10 miles for customers north of the shop). A call-out fee may apply — this will be confirmed at the time of booking.
Call-out appointments are subject to availability. We will make every reasonable effort to attend at the agreed time. If we are unable to attend, we will give you as much notice as possible and offer to rebook.
You are responsible for ensuring a suitable working environment is available (safe access, adequate lighting). We reserve the right to decline to carry out a repair on-site if conditions are not suitable, and will offer to take the device to our workshop instead.
All other terms (pricing, warranty, liability) apply equally to call-out repairs.
9 School & Business Repairs
For school and business customers, repairs are carried out under the same terms as consumer repairs unless a separate written agreement has been agreed in advance.
Purchase orders are accepted from educational institutions. Work will commence upon receipt of an approved PO or written confirmation from an authorised member of staff. Payment terms for schools are 30 days from invoice date unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Bulk repair quotations are valid for 14 days from the date of issue. We reserve the right to revise a quote if the actual condition of devices differs materially from that described at the time of quoting.
